Volunteer or Get Help: Chequamegon Bay Community Care Network

Dear Members and Friends,

Spring greetings in these extraordinary times!

Some of you may be wondering how to help members of our community in need of assistance and support.

Our area has entities such as The BRICK, CORE, NorthLakes Community Clinic and many others meeting essential needs such as food security, needle exchange and Narcan.

And of course our clinics, nursing homes, hospitals, and first responders offer ongoing important and valuable services.

We are also fortunate to have an organization that sprung up specifically in response to the pandemic: Chequamegon Bay Community Care Network. Their website gives us the opportunity to sign up to volunteer or request assistance: http://www.cheqbaycc.org.

The Board of the League of Women Voters of Ashland and Bayfield Counties held its regular meeting on Tuesday with Zoom video and phone conference.

On our Agenda was how we might contribute to the wellbeing of our neighbors in light of COVID-19.

We agreed to let you know about Chequamegon Bay Community Care, and will continue to explore ways to be in solidarity with those in need.

The group has a social media presence and can be found on Facebook

They are trying to dispel misinformation, while creatively sharing resources and helping all of us extend a generous hand.

It may be possible to contribute financially to the group in the near future.

I hope you are all able to find comfort engaging with loved ones.

With healthful wishes,

Anne
Anne Chartier, President, League of Women Voters of Ashland and Bayfield Counties
