Throughout this landmark anniversary, we celebrate the youth vote, while recognizing that barriers facing young people, and particularly college students, have prevented us from fulfilling the full promise of the 26th Amendment.

Read MoreThe Wisconsin Biennial Budget is on the table. In December, Governor Evers and Lt. Governor Barnes held 4 virtual Listening Sessions. Using the feedback from Wisconsin citizens (over 2000 participants), the Governor/staff will draft the Budget Proposal and present it to the Joint Finance Committee of the legislature. Then in spring, there will be virtual Hearings asking for public comment on the budget. The LWVABC has a tradition of presenting both oral and written testimony for the hearings of the Joint Finance Committee. Join a workgroup to help craft the LWVABC testimony!

All too often these important elected offices are unopposed or left vacant so an unelected appointee fills the office. Voters deserve better, they deserve a choice of who will represent them. That can only happen if local residents step up to take on a leadership role in their communities.
